Following the success of the Converse x JW Anderson Toy collection, this season the two brands collaborate again to produce the Felt collection, available to buy in store and online from Thursday 11th October.
With an innate ability to elevate the mundane into eccentric and provocative statements, in collection two of Converse x JW Anderson, Jonathan continues to reference his lifelong obsession with art and craft to once again, transform an iconic design staple. Over two seasons, Jonathan’s approach to the silhouette he has worn throughout his life, the Chuck, has consistently generated concepts that are not only fresh and new, but unexpected.
Jonathan’s ongoing exploration of color and textured material executions, which was exemplified by the glossy patent of the “Toy,” persists in the new Chuck 70 “Felt” collection. Premium felt transforms the Chuck 70 in a colorful, yet measured capsule for Fall/Winter. With an elevated attention to detail, the unisex collection’s premium felt upper is complemented by a post-applied felt foxing tape and license plate with lasered-in details.
The textile process that creates felt – matting, condensing and pressing fibers together using force – is interpreted as a “movement” in the collection campaign, conceptualized and shot by young artist, Arielle Bobb-Willis.
